bpi.agri announces plans for Grasslands & Muck 2008

bpi.agri has just announced exciting plans for Grasslands & Muck 2008. At the event, the UK’s leading manufacturer of silage stretch films intends to showcase at least two new next generation products. The bpi.agri team will also be joined by experts from partner organisations like IGER (The Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research) who will be on hand to offer advice on balewrapping best practice.

The first of the new products bpi.agri will present is SilotitePRO. This new balewrap builds on the phenomenal success of Silotite, which is used to wrap more than 50 million bales in over 50 countries worldwide.

SilotitePRO is an innovative silage stretch film developed specifically for combi-machines. This exciting new bale wrap combines an impressive 40% extra length with a lower film thickness whilst maintaining the essential characteristics of traditional bale wrap such as oxygen permeability, high strength and tear resistance.

SilotitePRO brings significant cost advantages to farmers and contractors thanks to the additional number of bales it is possible to wrap with the extra reel length. As well as producing more bales, this means that reels are changed less frequently which saves machinery operators time and effort.

Also on show will be Baletite, an exciting new addition to BPI’s silage film range. Baletite is a polythene wrapping film which replaces netwrap on round bales. It not only secures bales effectively but also aids the grass ensiling process thanks to the increased oxygen barrier provided by the extra layers of film. Baletite also helps to make the film recycling process more efficient. As it is manufactured from the same raw material base as silage stretch film, there is no need to separate it from the stretch film prior to recycling. Once the bale has been opened the used film materials can be stored and ultimately processed together, saving valuable time and labour costs.
