SUPERIOR STRENGTH SILAGE SHEETS- MADE IN THE UK

Unreliable and heavy silage sheets have become a thing of the past as bpi.agri’s leading range of silage sheets remains the most widely used in the UK.

In response to market demand, bpi.agri developed Visqueen Agri-S, a super high strength silage sheet which is the only one to be manufactured in the UK. Technical expertise within the company is unrivalled and has enabled bpi.agri to create the most durable clamp sheet available by combining the finest raw materials with a unique polymer formulation.

Having been on the market for several years now, Visqueen Agri-S has thoroughly proved itself in the tough environs of UK agriculture, backing up the extensive ADAS testing it received whilst in development.

Many products can be damaged when sheeting down the clamp. However, the high strength and impact-resistance of Visqueen Agri-S can help prevent this happening, its superior tear strength minimising further splitting. As a result Visqueen Agri-S is easier to use and lasts longer, making it a more cost-effective choice for both farmer and contractor.

The sheet comes with advanced UV inhibitors which provide full protection from UV degradation whilst in use. In addition, Visqueen Agri-S boasts excellent opacity with the black colour and thickness of the sheet maintaining a consistent appearance, making clear spots a thing of the past. Significantly lighter than conventional sheeting, Visqueen Agri-S is more manageable and easier to dispose of, which is an important advantage with the recent changes in agricultural waste legislation.

Extensively tested by ADAS, the UK’s largest provider of environmental and rural solutions and policy advice, the superior strength characteristics of Visqueen Agri-S were recognised by this unbiased industry body following ‘live’ trials on selected UK farms.

In addition to Visqueen Agri-S, bpi.agri also produces Polisile, a three-layer sheet first developed in the UK to meet the added demands of maize silage. Like Visqueen Agri-S, Polisile boasts exceptional strength and added resistance to puncturing, due to the strong bond formed between the three individual layers during the extrusion process.

Polisile sheets are very effective in keeping spoilage to a minimum. One side of the sheet is white, and when placed uppermost reflects heat and as a result helps maintain a lower temperature within the clamp. Polisile is available in widths of up to 18.3 metres.

Customers of both products benefit from the latest technology and expert advice provided by bpi.agri’s nationwide team of silage sheeting experts. Being UK-based, unlike its competitors, bpi.agri is able to provide prompt advice and on-farm technical back-up when and where it’s needed.

bpi.agri is committed to a programme of continuous research and development to ensure that its end users are guaranteed a high quality product that is scientifically proven. Part of this programme involves a long-standing relationship with the Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research (IGER) based in Aberystwyth in Wales. This alliance enables bpi.agri to produce the best product for its end users - farmers and contractors - and aids the evolvement of the science of silage making. It also assures bpi.agri’s position as leader in agricultural polythene film manufacturing.

Ends.
