Bpi.agri hails Eurobale
bpi.agri, the British-based manufacturer of agricultural stretch wrap, has assisted with setting-up a bespoke balewrap recycling facility for Eurobale, the UK’s leading haylage producer.
Formed in 1992, Nottingham based Eurobale, is a family run business which has used bpi.agri’s market leading Silotite wrap for its entire bale wrapping requirements for several years. Eurobale is one of an increasing number of companies to implement a recycling facility to ensure that waste polythene products are disposed of safely and in an environmentally friendly manner.
Eurobale’s recycling initiative was implemented in response to requests from two of their key customers to recycle used bale wrap. Working in conjunction with CWG Country Stores in Stamford, who supply Eurobale with the Silotite product, bpi.agri assisted with setting up a recycling facility for Eurobale with sister company bpi.recycling, the largest polythene recycler in Europe.
bpi.agri was also able to recommend a supplier of an industrial film compactor to compress and bind the returned used film so that it can be easily prepared for collection and processing by bpi.recycling.
John Lancaster, Commercial Director of bpi.agri comments: “In the absence of a National Recycling Scheme, we are happy to work with interested parties to set-up a recycling facility where feasible and where waste bale wrap can be prepared in the correct manner for processing. Whilst we await the findings of AWSF (Agricultural Waste Stakeholders Forum) in relation to a sustainable waste strategy, we are pleased to discuss how companies could avail of our group recycling facilities with the right waste management set-up in place.”
Eurobale chose bpi.agri’s green Silotite bale wrap for the production of their renowned haylage products because of its effective heat reflective properties. Bales are wrapped eight times to create the best environment for haylage fementation. John continues: ”Eurobale prides itself on producing quality equine fodder. Silotite’s triple layer construction, exceptional strength and sealing and UV protection all help the haylage ferment. Producing 9,600 tonnes of haylage per annum which totals around 60,000 bales, we are delighted that the company choose CWG Country Stores and the BPI group to meet its wrapping and recycling needs.”
